It's a great area for walking so sensible walking shoes are a must if you want to make the most of the surrounding moors , remember to bring walking boots or wellies in the winter to enable you to explore.

Locally (without getting in the car)
*10 minute walk to  olive & co coffee shop at Siblyback lake. You can walk around the whole lake in about an hour. (OLIVE & CO. CAFE | Cornwall (olivecocafe.com))

Further a field
Walking on Bodmin moor is something really special- drive 10 minutes to Minions and park near the Cornish Mines Heritage Centre.  From there you have a 360 breath-taking view and you can walk for miles.

Coastal path walking - the coastal path runs all along Cornwalls coast with stunning views around every bend. Please review the path you are planning on walking on before hand as they are colour rated for difficulty.

Lesa and Neil's Favourite Walk
Park in Looe > walk up to Hannafore point and along coastal path to Talland.
Stop at Talland Beach Cafe for a Hot Chocolate and cake ( you’ve earnt it! )
Then walk to Polperro further along coastal path, passing the little lighthouse for a photo. Once in Polperro walk up the little narrow roads and indulge in a pasty.  At the top of the village catch the bus back to Looe (or walk back the same route if you feel up to it!)

EATING IN:
Arrange a meal Hamper - We do provide all our guests with milk, biscuits,  as well as a few little treats and a basic breakfast but for the more adventurous visitor we can put together a meal hamper perfect for cooking on an open fire. Choose from : sweet potato currry, campfire nachos, seafood chowder or BBQ smokey beans. It’s a slow steady process cooking over a campfire cooking pit but it gives you time to relax and enjoy the outside.  Please contact us in advance if this is of interest.

Cornish Hamper for your arrival - we work closely with the most amazing Deli & off licence called The Good Life in Polperro. They showcase amazing Cornish cheeses, meats, chutneys and of course alcohol. You can contact them and discuss what you would like  and we will collect it and have it waiting for you. Find them on FB or Instagram or call Michelle on 07958 702175

EATING OUT

1 mile away - Olive and Co at Sibleyback lake. Their food is fabulous any time of the day.  I recommend the Banana Bread for breakfast and Neil always has the Eggs & Avo. They also do a great afternoon tea (best to book this) You can walk there and then roll back  please say we sent you)
(OLIVE & CO. CAFE | Cornwall (olivecocafe.com))

4.7 miles - London Inn in St Neot - Neil really recommends the Pie of the day, it’s a 10 min drive or 2 hour beautiful walk. Pub | London Inn | Saint Neot (londoninnstneot.com)

Restaurants :
if you love seafood then The Fishmarket is out of this world in Looe . Home - The Fish Market (thefishmarketlooe.com)

Couches restaurant - Polperro’s award winning restaurant ( this is our go to for a meal on anniversaries, birthdays or when Neil’s in the doghouse) it’s £70 set menu but well worth it.  Couch's Polperro Restaurant Home Page

For the most amazing but really special romantic meal - then The Talland Bay Hotel  is the place to go. It’s silver service and very decadent. It’s in Talland Bay and the restaurant view is incredible. Talland Bay Hotel | Luxury Hotel in Cornwall | Sea View Hotel | Holiday Cottages Cornwall

If you’re after a great fish n chip restaurant then Coddyshack in Looe, it’s where the locals go  ( Lesa’s artwork is on the wall!) The Coddy Shack | Fish & Chips | England

*Finally worth a look at Bar Silo in Golant, if you’re lucky enough to have a band on when you visit it’s definitely not to be missed. It’s really trendy and a bit alternative

*Carnglaze Caverns is about 15 drive and is really interesting to see the mining history , plus they have concerts in there and the acoustics are out of this world.
